What is a breast augmentation ?
Hypotrophy or mammary hypoplasia is defined as insufficient breast volume in relation to a person's morphology.
This hypoplasia or hypotrophy of the breasts may be congenital or caused by weight loss or pregnancy with breastfeeding.
What are the different types of breast implants?
There are several types of breast implants as to their composition: silicone gel breast implants, saline-filled breast implants and hydrogel breast implants
How does the first consultation with Dr. Ankri take place in Montreux?
During the consultation Dr. ANKRI Alain will examine the breasts, their base of implantation, their height, the quality of the mammary gland, the size of the areola, the shape of the ribcage without forgetting of course the size and the weight of the patient, as well as the cutaneous and muscular state.
The breast implants operation
The procedure can be executed after performing a pre-operative assessment (blood work) and a pre-anaesthesia consultation.
In some cases a pre-operative mammogram may be prescribed.
The operation is performed under general anaesthesia and lasts approximately 1h15.
What is the post-operative procedure?
The post-operative course can be slightly painful and especially during the retro-pectoral placement of the breast prosthesis.
But Dr. ANKRI Alain uses an aesthetic product that he injects into the box with breast implants and allows to postpone all pain for a period of 12 hours.
The results of a breast augmentation
In the days following the procedure, the breast may be tight and present a slight oedema.
Things to know about breast implants
The lifetime of the implants is on average 10 years.
It is recommended by Dr. ANKRI Alain to perform a mammography or an ultrasound control every 2 years to evaluate the state of wear of the prosthesis.
