Mammary Hypertrophy
What is breast hypertrophy?
Breast hypertrophy is characterised by a volume of breasts too large compared to the morphology of the person.
Breast hypertrophy can cause discomfort both physical (back pain, discomfort to the practice of certain sports, difficulties in clothing etc ...) and psychological.
How is the first consultation for breast hypertrophy performed?
Dr Alain Ankri will study the patient's morphology, breast height, quality of the gland and mammary fat, as well as the size of the areola.
He will also assess any breast asymmetry and decide, in agreement with the patient, the size of the final residual cup.
How does breast hypertrophy work?
It is performed under general anaesthesia and requires 2 or 3 days of hospitalisation.
The duration of the procedure is approximately 2 hours.
The removed gland and fat are automatically sent to an anatomical pathology laboratory for possible anomalies.
The post-operative course of hypertrophy
The post-operative course is not painful but the patient should avoid efforts and driving during the first week.
Sports can be resumed at the end of the 6th week.
